Wunderbar erfrischend, spannend und lustig. Mit dem dritten Band kommt es zu einer Zuspitzung der Ereignisse und Pläne. Die Vielschichtigkeit erinnert sogar ein wenig an Sherlock Holmes. Sehr erfrischend sind auch die versteckten Witze.
Remember what happened last time? The LEP decide that Fowl is a security risk to the Fairies and so Foaly wipes the minds of Fowl and Butler. Then they rest easy thinking that is the last of Artemis and his schemes. But in this book disaster strikes. Opal Koboi has come out of her coma and she is vowing revenge on those who foiled her plans before. So that's bad news for Short, Root, Foaly, Mulch and of course Artemis and Butler.Koboi frames Short for murder and Short therefore has no other possibility than to go back up to earth for Artemis's help once again. The trouble is, he can't remember anything about the Fairies or his previous adventures with the LEP. But he needs to try to remember fast because Koboi and her cohorts are coming after them - and she isn't coming around for tea and cookies!This book contains a LOT of plot developments and big changes in the Artemis Fowl storylines. So this book is very important to read if you are an Artemis fan like me. After the shocks of this book, the Artemis books won't be the same again! But then again, maybe it opens up new opportunities and possibilities for the next book in the series?This book is highly recommended. I found it impossible to put it down. Once again, Mulch Diggums and Foaly are the heroes who kick some serious bottom.

Ich hatte ja die Befürchtung, dass der dritte Band um Artemis Fowl wirklich der letzte sein sollte, aber ein Glück - es gibt eine Fortsetzung. Und sie ist super spannend! Ich habe das Buch gestern morgen bekommen und heute morgen hatte ich es durchgelesen.... Ich konnte es nicht aus der Hand legen! Die Welt, die der irische Autor Eoin Colfer erschaffen hat, zieht einen total in ihren Bann. Also - es gibt auf jeden Fall 5 Sterne für diesen humorvollen Fantasy-Roman!

Eoin Colfer has done it again with this non-stop action novel. Comical and fast paced, this is a real page turner as boy genius Artemis, Holly, Butler, and Mulch try to stop the evil pixie Opal Koboi who has awakened, broken out of prison, and is exacting her revenge on the two world and their inhabitants. But stopping her will be anything but easy for Artemis and his friends. Opal's evil plan is like the tangle of a spider's web. And then there's Artemis. His memories gone, Artemis must remember his past in order to stop Opal and save both worlds from certain doom. Briliant! Another book I've enjoyed: The alien invasion adventure "GAAK" by Darryl Hughes. Four "Goonies" like kids take on adolesence and kooky aliens i order to save the world. Too funny.
Colfer brennt wieder ein Feuerwerk von Ideen und actionreicher Handlung ab - Wahnsinn.Auch wenn der Vergleich mit Harry Potter lange passé ist, er bietet sich hier nochmal an: Der Held reift, es stirbt jemand, ob das alles noch kindgerecht ist, darf bezweifelt werden. Aber, wie gesagt, im Gegensatz zu Potter 5 gibt es absolut keine Zeit zum Durchatmen.1 Stern Abzug, weil Colfer sein eigenes Antiheld-Konzept nicht durchhalten kann (Fowl wird nett).
Wie erwartet war auch dieses Buch der Artemis Fowl Reihe sehr unterhaltsam und spannend. Man sollte mindestens das erste Buch der Reihe bereits gelesen haben.Eine gelungene Mischung aus Spannung, Tragik und Gefühl. Ein Teil der Story spielte diesmal sogar in Deutschland, München.Lediglich verliert ganz langsam Artemis seinen "Antiheld" Charme, da er mittlerweile sehr gefühlvoll und fast nett - und sehr oft auch ängstlich - ist.
